NOVA LATIN

An online resource for Latin teachers and students
Nova Latin offers free resources for anyone interested in learning more about the Latin language or Roman culture. Here, you can find textbooks, readers, novellas and a variety of other resources to help start, continue or enhance your study of Latin and the ancient world.

Why online?

While a traditional textbook has been the foundation of Latin education for a long time, the emergence of so many rich online resources has rendered traditional textbooks much less effective in today's classroom. Printed textbooks have been amazing resources for many years, but once they are printed it is very difficult to update them. Many Latin textbooks have not been updated in decades and no longer align with current teaching practices, forcing teachers to supplement them with other materials. Spending thousands of dollars on a textbook that needs to be supplemented no longer makes sense. Nova Latin provides a variety of free, easy to use resources that allow teachers to create their own curriculum in the way they see fit and modify it whenever they want, saving time, energy and money. Students also benefit, as they are no longer tied to choosing only one option for their needs but can now sample a wide range of texts and resources to find the ones that best suit their learning style.
